You can participate in online Oogcontact meetings via your computer or phone. So you don’t have to go anywhere. It’s an accessible way to meet other people and get information from professionals.
What are we going to do?
On July 8, we’re hosting an online gathering for anyone who is blind or has severe visual impairment. This event will provide you with valuable information and a sense of community. You can register for this event even if you’re not a member of the OOG in OOG Association.
Ophthalmologist Dr. Sodabah Khatab of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital discusses the effects on the brain following an eye removal. Topics covered include the day-night rhythm and phantom images.
This event is intended for members and non-members who:
- have had both eyes removed or are about to undergo this procedure
- to have had one eye removed and to have very poor vision in the other eye
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences with others.
You can submit questions when you register. This way, we can ensure that important topics are definitely covered.
We’re counting on you to come
We’ve noticed that people sometimes confuse an online peer support meeting with a webinar. This meeting is NOT a webinar that is recorded and can be watched later. This is an online peer support meeting where we’ll have a conversation with one another. When you register, we assume you’ll be attending. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you’re unable to attend at the last minute, please let us know by emailing info@ver-ooginoog.nl. That way, we won’t be waiting for participants in vain.
