Nineteen years ago, she had a tumor on her face, which resulted in the removal of her eye. Facial prosthodontist Shirley Bouman makes these prostheses and demonstrates how she does it.

From the moment she lost her eye to a tumor that had to be chiseled out with a hammer and chisel, Jolanda didn’t dare look in the mirror for three months. “I want to show that it’s possible to have your face transformed into something beautiful.” On the prosthetists: “These aren’t doctors. These are artists.”
