On the new website, the familiar information has been given a more modern look, featuring beautiful photos of people with an ocular prosthesis or who see with only one eye. Most of the portraits were taken by photographer and ophthalmologist Marina Marinkovic.

In addition, there is also new information available, for example about eye conditions that often lead to an eye removal. Saskia says: “The website is already live, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. For example, the information library—which includes articles and videos about living with one eye—still needs to be filled out. That’s a big task. We’ll be working on that over the coming year. We also want to develop many more videos and animations to support the text. We’ll also ask our website advisory board members to take another critical look at the information. Where necessary, we’ll adjust and supplement the information.”

The new website was created in collaboration with the web design agency 2manydots in Tilburg. In addition, several healthcare providers reviewed the text on the site to ensure its accuracy.
