What are we going to do?
On Saturday, October 10, we’ll spend the afternoon together at Naturalis in Leiden. Naturalis is the largest natural history museum in the Netherlands and an international research institute for biodiversity. It’s a place where you can not only admire extraordinary animals, plants, and fossils, but also see how scientists study life on Earth.
A visit to Naturalis is fun for both children and adults. There’s so much to discover. But of course, the main point is that it’s a chance to connect with others in similar situations in person! After we arrive, we’ll start by having a welcome drink together to get to know each other. Then we’ll explore the museum.
The Program
Please check in at the ticket counter (look for the OOG in OOG banner) at 1:00 p.m.; there, you’ll receive a token for a drink in the restaurant. We’ll begin our introductory session in the restaurant. Afterward, we’ll have until 5:00 p.m. to explore the museum.
All other snacks and items from the shop are at your own expense.
Costs
On the registration form, you can indicate whether you have a Museum Year Card or a Friends Lottery VIP Card. If you have one of these, you must bring it with you during your visit, and you will not be required to pay the admission fee.
If you do not have this, you will pay a €10 per person co-payment. You may bring one guest. If you wish to bring more people, you must pay for these additional guests at the ticket counter or purchase tickets online yourself at the regular rate, which is €18 for children ages 4 and up.
When you register, please list all participants so we know how many seats to reserve at the restaurant.
Accessibility
The museum is a 10-minute walk from Leiden Centraal Station and is therefore easy to reach. There is a large parking garage behind the museum on Mendelweg (travel and parking costs are at your own expense). Read more about how to get there here.
