Each year, the association draws up its plans for the coming year, and once every four years, it also prepares a multi-year plan: POLICY_PLAN_OOG-in-OOG_2024-2028-2
Our main activities are:
- representing the interests of the aforementioned target groups before the government, healthcare providers, and civil society organizations, both within the Netherlands and Belgium and beyond;
- to provide the target audience with information about developments in healthcare, specifically regarding ocular prostheses, eye removal surgeries, monocular vision, anophthalmia, microphthalmia, and retinoblastoma;
- organizing peer-to-peer connections (online and in person);
- organizing local, regional, and national meetings for members;
- publishing a magazine and a newsletter and communicating via the website and social media about all relevant topics;
- providing information;
- promoting and monitoring research in the Netherlands and internationally;
- establishing and maintaining contacts with healthcare providers, health insurance companies, and experts in the fields of anophthalmia/microphthalmia, retinoblastoma, ocular prostheses, eye removal surgery, and monocular vision;
- organizing all other activities that contribute to the goal.
