To provide additional support to parents, our association has teams of volunteers. These teams provide information and a listening ear. In the retinoblastoma, anophthalmia, and microphthalmia teams, you’ll find parents who themselves have a child with one of these conditions.
Once a year, the OOG in OOG Association organizes a Family Day. This day is specially organized for our OOG in OOG children who wear an ocular prosthesis, were born with anophthalmia, microphthalmia, or retinoblastoma, or who see with only one eye. Parents, siblings, and of course grandparents are all warmly welcome to this wonderful day for young and old alike! It’s a chance for parents and caregivers to get to know each other in a playful way, share experiences, and gain insight into each other’s situations. And the children? They make friends in a safe and relaxed environment. The program is usually announced in mid-August and takes place in the fall.
In our private Facebook group, members of the association can connect with each other online. There, you can ask questions and read about others’ experiences. This group includes people who, for various reasons, see with only one eye.
You can also join our WhatsApp community and choose the group that interests you.
