Students with visual impairments are being excluded

Students with visual impairments are still excluded from higher education every day due to inaccessible digital learning materials.
The problem has been known for years, is technically solvable, and is enshrined in international treaties, but there is still a lack of structural legislation and enforcement. As a result, accessibility now too often depends on the goodwill of individual teachers or institutions.
BNNVara’s program *Kassa* covered this topic last week. Among those featured is Rosalie. Rosalie had retinoblastoma as a small child. Carin Hoorn, director of the Oogvereniging, and Don Ceder (Member of Parliament for the ChristenUnie) were also interviewed.
