We had a lot of visitors at our booth—both members and people who weren’t yet familiar with our association. Over the course of the two days, Maaike, Carel, Tonnie, and Saskia were able to inform many people (about 130) about eye removals, ocular prostheses, and life with one eye.

Radio 509

In the run-up to the Oogbeurs, Maaike was interviewed by Radio509. She talked about her own involvement with our association, as well as what we organize for people who see with only one eye. Radio509 is the most inclusive radio station in the Netherlands and is made possible in part by the Bartiméus Fund. At Radio509, they create radio programs and audio productions—such as podcasts—with true masters of sound. The program producers have little or no vision, which means their focus on sound is unmatched. You can really hear that.
