Jelmer Remmers (41) is one of four ocularists in the Netherlands. He makes prosthetic eyes for anyone who has lost an eye—whether due to eye cancer or a firework. It’s painstaking work. “A prosthetic eye has to look good, but above all, it has to fit comfortably.”
