Free Book: Not Done Yet
In the Netherlands, approximately 300,000 people have a visual impairment; 85% of them are over the age of 60. The book *Still Not Done Looking: Inspiration for People Aging with Impaired Vision* was written for people whose vision begins to deteriorate later in life and for whom glasses or contact lenses no longer help.
The Emotional and Practical Aspects of Gradually Losing One’s Eyesight
The book explores the emotional and practical aspects of vision loss. How does a person cope with this? What is it like for loved ones? What is still possible? Regarding this last question, you might consider the conscious use of other senses and practical adjustments at home. Which vision impairments are common among older adults, which organizations can you turn to, and what assistive devices are available? Information written by professionals is interspersed with tips and personal stories from people who have become visually impaired or blind, as well as their partners and children.
The book, which is 162 pages long, can be ordered as a printed book for €37.23 or with a spiral binding, so it stays open even better. At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a button that lets you download the book as a PDF file. It will also be available for loan as an audiobook and in Braille (April 2024) for members of Passend Lezen.
