App for treating lazy eye

A team of eye specialists, mathematicians, and game designers from the University of Southampton has developed a smartphone app to improve the treatment of children with amblyopia, or “lazy eye.”
The app is designed to encourage children to develop positive associations with wearing an eye patch, thereby increasing the success of the therapy. The app features games designed by graduates of the Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton and uses the smartphone’s camera to ensure the patch is worn correctly. The app is called The Amblios Club and is available for Android devices. It will also be available for the iPhone soon.
