On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the “Oog in OOG” exhibition opened at the muZIEum. This exhibition featured photographs of people with eye prostheses. The portraits were taken by Marina Marinkovic, who is not only an ophthalmologist but also a photographer. The OOG in OOG Association published a booklet featuring this series of portraits.

Marina: “Thanks to Anita, I realized that my intuition as a doctor has a greater influence on how I explain things than I thought.”

Anita:

“My prosthesis has become a part of me. Sometimes it feels like I can feel it tingling when it goes into the Biotex. But at the same time, I can forget all about it. Once, I didn’t even realize I hadn’t put my prosthesis on until I was in the car on my way to an appointment. That’s how little I think about it.”

“I don’t want people to feel sorry for me, which is why I didn’t want to join the patient advocacy group at first. But in the end, connecting with others in the same situation led me to organize walks for the group and write columns for the magazine. I try to write with a touch of humor, in the hope that it will help others.”
