You can participate in online Oogcontact meetings via your computer or phone. So you don’t have to go anywhere. It’s an accessible way to meet other members and get information from professionals.
What are we going to do?
Dear Members,
My name is Jeremy van Vliet, I’m 34 years old and from The Hague, and I was diagnosed with retinoblastoma when I was just 3 months old. I recently began serving the OOG in OOG Association as a board member for retinoblastoma. Because retinoblastoma, like anophthalmia or microphthalmia, is a congenital condition, I am expanding my scope of work to also advocate for the interests of this group within our association, together with our core team of volunteers, Montse and Maaike.
I would like to further explore how we, as the OOG in OOG Association, can best serve this target group, what is needed, how we can stay in touch with one another, and how we, as an association, can remain relevant to our members.
Are you thinking about joining in and/or actually joining in?
We can’t do this alone, which is why we’re looking for members who want to support us in this effort. Your opinion matters, and even if you don’t feel the immediate need to volunteer with us, simply sharing your experiences and thoughts can be very valuable. Of course, it would be wonderful if you’d like to continue supporting our target group in a way that works for you.
Introduction
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., we’re organizing an online meeting. We’ll have a chance to get to know each other briefly, but (more importantly) I’d like to listen to your ideas on how our association can take the next step in supporting people with anophthalmia or microphthalmia. I’m looking forward to it and can’t wait to get to know you all better.
We’re counting on you to come
We’ve noticed that people sometimes confuse an online peer support meeting with a webinar. This meeting is NOT a webinar that is recorded and can be watched later. This is an online peer support meeting where we’ll have a conversation with one another. When you register, we assume you’ll be attending. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, you’re unable to attend at the last minute, please let us know by emailing info@ver-ooginoog.nl. That way, we won’t be waiting for participants in vain.
Zoom User Guide
If you participate in the online session, you will receive a helpful guide in advance. You can register for this session through June 2. The Zoom link will be sent by 2:00 p.m. on June 3.
