Three audio articles by Elian Deenik
To bring audio magazines to life for blind and visually impaired subscribers of Passend Lezen, Elian Deenik has been traveling across the country since 1999 to conduct interviews and produce reports. For example, she visited Marjolein van den Broek and Elles Veenman, both of whom wear two ocular prostheses. They talk about the loss of their sight and what it’s like to be blind while wearing two ocular prostheses. Elian also interviewed Erica Groet when she was still working as an ocularist at the AMC.

Marjolein
Listen to the interview with Marjolein: She has been visually impaired since birth. She talks about her life with her “Nutella family.” Later in life, she began experiencing even more problems with her eyes. She now wears two ocular prostheses.
Elles
Listen to the interview with Elles: Elles had RP since she was eight, but she no longer has it because she wears two ocular prostheses. She was so bothered by light sensitivity (photophobia) that she decided to have her eyes removed.
