A Call to Parents: Share Your Experiences with Fireworks and Help Others!
Do you have a child between the ages of 12 and 15 who has experienced a traumatic or shocking incident involving fireworks? For example, because the fireworks went off too quickly, were set off too close by, or even caused an injury (including eye injury)? If so, we would like to hear from you.
For a nationwide fireworks safety campaign organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, we are looking for parents who are willing to share their stories. The goal: to warn other parents, raise awareness, and encourage them to talk to their children about fireworks safety and the importance of wearing protective eyewear.
We are looking for parents who:
- Children aged 12 through 15
- Have had a bad experience with fireworks involving their child(ren)
- We want to encourage other parents to start a conversation about setting off fireworks safely
- Be prepared to be interviewed by phone for 15–30 minutes
- They may also want to share their story with the media (with guidance)
